Develeopment of genetic tool for Archaea
Description: We use biochemical, microbiological and imaging methods to understand various molecular process in Archaea. Hereby we focus on the regulation and assembly of the archaeal motility structure, the archaellum. However, we also work on DNA transfer, biofilm formation, N-glycan biosynthesis and cell division. Our model organisms are the hyperthermophilic Sulfolobus acidocaldarius and the extremely halophilic Haloferax volcanii, which are both geneticall tractable. - Protein Structures and Functions
